PENSACOLA, Fla. - People all over the country Wednesday were on a mission. It was to get home. Passengers were looking forward to everything from mashed potatoes and gravy, to just seeing everybody they knew.

Even though every flight was just about full. There were no lines, and folks found it pretty easy making it home.

But the hard part for a group of ladies was getting all their shopping home. Debra Shankle and her two friends were flying back to Dallas.

"She lost her mind in the Swarovski store, so her jewelry is overweighing her suitcase. Check her out, she had to take 12 pounds out of that heavy bag so that she can fit in on the airplane," Shankle added.

After doing a few switcheroos, they found a way to make it work. Good thing, because these ladies have meals to prepare and there's no way they'd consider leaving their shopping behind.

"We have husbands that are waiting for us to return, family friends. As soon as we get home there's all the food that's there for us to prepare, so we're really excited to see family friends and football!" Shankle said.

Now they'll have their tale of getting home to tell at the dinner table.

The airport doesn't get final numbers on traffic until mid-December but they said it appears to be about the same as last year.
