PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Pensacola Police identified the homeless man found dead in Pensacola's Wayside Park Saturday afternoon.

Mark Albert McKenzie was found floating in the water on the west side of the Pensacola Bay Bridge. A fisherman spotted the 57-year-old man's body around 2 p.m.

With no permanent address, it took officials a couple of days to notify his family of his death. They were contacted late Tuesday night.

An autopsy shows McKenzie drowned. It's believed he was in the water for less than 24 hours.
