PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - An Escambia County Road Prison Inmate Worker is back in custody and in the Escambia County Jail after he escaped while working at the Escambia County Animal Shelter.
Authorities say around 9:45 a.m. Friday, Alexander G. Kent asked if he could use the restroom at the Animal Shelter, where he was working. When Kent didn’t return to his work officers realized he had escaped.
Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the animal shelter, established a perimeter and conducted a K9 track in an attempt to locate Kent.
During the course of the investigation, deputies developed a possible location where Kent may be hiding and responded to that residence where they located and arrested Kent.
Kent was booked into the Escambia County Jail on one count of escape and has a $15,000 bond.
