CENTURY, Fla. (WALA) - The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman who had stopped her vehicle for a school bus in Century was killed when her vehicle was rear-ended on Wednesday.

Authorities have opened a traffic homicide investigation in the accident, which left Sara R. Daw of Flomaton, Ala. dead. Charges against James Richburg, the other driver in the accident, are pending.

The Highway patrol said Daw was had stopped behind the bus, which was picking up children in the inside lane of U.S. 29. They said Richburg failed to stop and rear-ended Daw. Her vehicle rolled south until it came to rest in the same lane.

Richburg, who suffered minor injuries, veered into the outside lane. Daw was transported to Jay Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
