PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Pensacola police are wrestling with a tough theft case after a Greco-Roman wrestling coach reported his world championship ring stolen.
Police said the victim discovered his ring, which he won coaching the USA Greco-Roman wrestling team in 2007, missing around January 19.
The victim told PPD Detective Cliff Lyster the gold ring was stolen from a jewelry box in his bedroom.
Authorities describe the ring as engraved with “USA” and the Olympic rings on its top, along with diamonds. The name “Hermann” is engraved on one side with an engraving of the United States and USA. The other side has “2007”, “World Champions” and a number “1” engraved on it.
Anyone who may have seen the ring is asked to contact PPD’s Detective Lyster at 435–1970.
