Pensacola Police are searching for a home invasion suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around in the 300 block of West Moreno Street.

According to Officer Dennis Salon, the 51-year-old victim had just driven into his garage and was getting out of his car when the suspect walked up to him and showed a handgun.

The suspect ordered the victim to lie face down on the ground. Salon said the suspect then opened the rear door on the driver’s side and grabbed a brown briefcase. The suspect kept the handgun pointed at the victim as he walked backward down the driveway.

Salon said as soon as the suspect got to the road, he ran northbound on Barcelona Street with the briefcase, which contained miscellaneous papers and some cash. The victim, who was not injured in the robbery, then got up, closed the garage door and called 911.

The suspect was a dark skinned black male approximately 20 to 40 years old. He was about 6 feet to 6 feet 2, medium build and was wearing dark pants low on his hips exposing gray underwear.

Anyone having information on the incident is asked to call the Pensacola Police Department at 435 -1900.
