PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Charges are pending after a teen died in an accident on Van Pelt Ln. near US-29 in Escambia County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Taylor Weir, 19, died at Sacred Heart Hospital after the Friday afternoon accident.

The FHP said Weir was in the northbound center lane on January 25 around 1 p.m. when his motorcycle and Kathleen Eccles’ vehicle collided.

Eccles vehicle collided with a utility pole on Van Pelt Ln. while Weir’s continued east and came to final rest facing north on the same road, blocking the east- and northbound lanes.

Weir was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
