SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. (WALA) - Authorities said a local 15-year-old was missing from his home in Santa Rosa Beach on Tuesday.

Officials said Nicholas John Bettua’s mother last saw him on March 17 around 4 p.m. when he said he was going to a basketball court nearby for an hour.

The Walton County Sheriff’s office said the teen called his mother and told her he would be back on Tuesday or Wednesday night, but refused to give his location.

Nicholas was last seen wearing jeans, a camouflage jacket and a University of Alabama ball cap. He is a white male, 5-foot-7-inches and 125 lbs.  He has blonde hair and green eyes.
