SANTA ROSA, Fla. (WALA) - The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained an accident on Old Bagdad Highway.
Officials said 57-year-old Thomas Sanders died on January 30 as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
The FHP said witnesses saw Sanders, of Bagdad, Fla., driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed, not wearing a helmet, when his back tire began to skid on January 27.
Officials said the motorcycle continued to skid for about 135 ft. before it collided with the ground. Sanders was ejected and continued another 110 feet off the vehicle before coming to final rest in the eastbound lane.
His motorcycle continued to travel on the road for another 70 feet, witnesses said.
