MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions says he would support a White House investigation into the BP claims process, proposed by Florida Senator Bill Nelson.
During an interview with Fox 10 News anchor Bob Grip, Sessions said, " It wouldn't bother me at all...[BP claims administrator Ken] Feinberg has been willing to meet with people and talk with them, but the problem has been that his promises too often have not been fulfilled."
The Air Force tanker contract is another important economic issue along the Gulf Coast. When asked about the chance of Mobile and EADS North America winning the bidding war with Boeing, Sessions said, "I'm never overconfident but I 'm hopeful that's exactly what's happening, that the best bid will come in from Alabama and we will be selected, again." Mobile and Northrop Grumman won the contract in February, 2008 but Boeing appealed, forcing the process to begin all over again.
Speaking about the future of the Middle East following the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Sessions said, "History awaits the writing."
