BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. - Heavy rainfall caused two sanitary sewers to overflow in Bayou La Batre.
The overflows happened late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Felecia Allen with the Mobile County Health Department said the first sewer overflow occurred near the intersection of Shell Belt Rd. and Cain St. The overflow caused 9,000 gallons of sewage to flow into the Bayou La Batre Bayou.
The second overflow occurred on Shell Belt Rd. It caused 3,600 gallons of sewage to flow into the bayou.
