MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A group of students from Oxford College of Emory University are spending Spring Break in Mobile this week. They are in town to help build a new home for a refugee family from Africa.
The students have teamed up with volunteers from Lowe's and Habitat for Humanity in Mobile County. They are in the Hillsdale Community to help the Sunzu family build a safe, affordable home. There are 13 members of the Sunzu family, including Noel, his wife, an aunt, and their 10 children.
Habitat for Humanity in Mobile County received a $35,000 grant from Lowe's to build the house. Additional funding and donations came from the Mobile community.
