25,000 gal. of sewage spilled in Foley

FOLEY, Ala. - Baldwin County Health Department released reports confirming two sewage spills occurred in the Foley area on May 17, 2009.

Due to heavy rain, manholes overflowed and resulted in an estimated 25,000 gallons of sewage being discharged into Wolf Creek and an estimated 2,000 gallons of sewage being discharged to Bon Secour River.

The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using Wolf Creek or Bon Secour River for recreational purposes.

Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught near by and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
