GULFPORT, Miss. - "I feel a little bit better. I went through an adventure that I never want to go through again," said Jonathan Navas.

Navas is lucky to be alive. The Ocean Springs Police Officer is one of four boaters found alive Monday afternoon in the Gulf of Mexico.

Another officer, Stephen Bond, was still missing Monday night.

Navas said the friends left Sunday for some fun on the water, when the weather turned.

"On the way back there was a bad storm and a 6 foot surge hit me and tipped me over and everybody drifted away," he said.

Coast Guard crews found Navas, his wife, and two others miles away from the capsized boat.

Navas said he wasn't sure if he was going to make it.

"Absolutely, very scared. I was in the water for 23 and a half hours before somebody responded," Navas said.

Navas was wearing a life vest. He encourages everyone to do the same.

"Just be careful out there because the experience I went through, I do not want nobody to go through that," Navas said.

"It's the worst experience I've ever had in my life," he added.
