MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Will Dumas and his family put out signs of support for Bradley Byrne, who is running for the republican nomination for Governor. When the first sign went up, the family didn't know it would soon become a target, and there are pictures to prove it.

Not once, not twice, but three times.

"When the race started heating up about six weeks ago, the first sign went out and after that sign was taken, we replaced it and it too was cut out," said Will Dumas.

After the second time the "Support Bradley Byrne" sign was vandalized, Dumas and his family decided enough was enough.

"We affixed a camera to this tree and set it up to where the sign is. The sign went up for a third time and two days ago, with the camera in place, at 3:58 in the morning an elderly gentleman came and cut it out again," Dumas explained.

Third time's a charm, except in this man's case, who is now caught red-handed. The sign is located at the intersection of Dauphin and McGregor, one of the busiest intersections in Mobile. Along with the pictures, the District Attorney's Office is hoping someone saw something.

"If your viewers can help us identify this person, perhaps we can resolve this with a conversation," said District Attorney John Tyson Jr.

Dumas said this is the dirty side of American politics.

"This is someone infringing on my family's right to express their political beliefs and it's undermining the system as a whole," Dumas said.

Although Tyson said this may be able to be resolved without charges, he said, if it keeps happening, the person could be looking at charges of trespassing and destruction of private property.
