Mary J. Blige coming to BayFest 2010

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Grammy Award winning R&B singer Mary J. Blige will perform at this years BayFest in Mobile.

Blige has won a total of nine Grammy's.  The R&B singer has been wowing critics and fans for the past 15 years.

The singer, producer, songwriter, actress, and rapper has recorded eight multi-platinum albums. She has been heralded as a legend for combining hip hop and soul in the early 1990s. As of 2010, Blige has sold 50 million records.

Blige’s most recent album, Stronger With Every Tear, was released in 2009 and contains 12 soulful and impressive songs. Two singles from this album, “We Got Hood Love” and “I Am,” are ranked high on the Billboard top R&B chart.

Blige will headline the Miller Lite Stage Friday night, October 1.

Weekend passes for the 16th Annual BayFest Music Festival are on sale now at www.bayfest.com . Those who purchase tickets by September 1 will be automatically entered to win a meet & greet with an artist of their choice. Some rules may apply. Three-day passes are $45 and day-passes are $30 per day at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
