SARALAND, Ala. (WALA) - Saraland police need the public's help identifying two men who are wanted for questioning in connection to a gas station robbery.
"Here's the first male suspect as he enters and advises the clerk what he wants, and the clerk goes and gets his Black and Mild for him," Detective Duncan Herrington said.
Herrington said investigators are asking for your help in solving a weekend robbery.
It happened just before midnight Friday at the Circle K on Forrest Avenue.
Kevin Langlous found out about it when he stopped for his coffee Monday morning on the way to work.
"She just told me some kids came in and used an ATM about an hour before they got robbed," Langlous said.
The robbery was captured on the store's security cameras. The video is really good, and police are hoping it will lead to an arrest.
Police say the first suspect actually comes in and makes a purchase.
"Right behind him on this frame you can see the second black male run in. It looks like he knew just where he was going. Knew exactly where he was headed to," Herrington said.
The clerk told police he thought the robber was armed.
"At this point the clerk looks like he's confused about what's going on, but as it goes forward a couple of frames his hands automatically go up, so that may have been the point where he says move, or I'll shoot you," he added.
Before the robbery happened, the clerk carded the suspect making the tobacco purchase, but he couldn't remember the information on the license.
"It's something the clerk does 100 times a shift, so he doesn't think much about it as long as the birthday is fine," Herrington said.
And, the ATM card used by suspect didn't provide any help either.
"It was either a bad card, or didn't scan anything," Herrington said.
Police say the clear pictures of two people who came into the store before the robbery could be their best lead. Investigators want to question those men. If you recognize either of the men call Saraland Police.
