Chickasaw Co. woman killed, husband charged

HOUSTON, Miss. (AP) — Bond has been denied a Chickasaw County man during his initial court appearance on a charge of murder in the death of his wife.

WTVA-TV in Tupelo reports (http://bit.ly/Zy3BE6 ) that Will Porter made an initial appearance in Chickasaw County Justice Court on Monday and was formally charged with murder.

Authorities say the body of 23-year-old Amanda Porter was found inside her home on Mississippi Highway 8 east of Houston. Coroner Andy Harmon says Porter was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife.
