FARMINGTON, Miss. (AP) — Wastewater treatment and disposal fees are going up in the town of Farmington.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (http://bit.ly/11kfpd ) that the rates will increase on April 1.
Farmington Mayor Dale Fortenberry says the basic rate will increase from $21 to $23 for the first 2,000 gallons. Amounts above 2,000 gallons will be charged 50 cents per 1,000 gallons.
The city of Corinth provides sewer treatment service to Farmington, and the Corinth Board of Aldermen voted this week to increase Farmington's rates to keep up with their higher costs, a rate which has not increased since 2001.
