LEAKESVILLE, Miss. (WALA) - It's been more than a week since a tornado packing winds of at least 136 miles per hour touched down in Greene County, Mississippi killing a woman.
Tuesday, the clean up continued, with some added help.
There is a lot of work that still needs to be done, and people are coming from all over to offer a hand.
Volunteers with the Temple of Praise Christian Center in nearby George County set up in the shadow of the destruction and handed out free meals to tornado victims.
"It's devastating and it hurts a lot of people. But when you have two counties that love one another pulls us all together," said Michael McCloud.
"It just broke my heart, to see these people, their community destroyed," said church member Jared Keel.
With a warm smile and a hot meal, volunteers hope to make difference. Most residents seemed to appreciate the gesture.
"Feels real nice to know people care," said Latisha Singleton.
"We have chainsaws and don't mind hauling around limbs in our truck," said Overflow International President Neal Howard.
Howard said the group has already made one trip to Leakesville to clean up and will make another one on April 30.
"Anyone that wants to go can meet us at 6 a.m. in the parking lot of Life Church near the U.S. Coast Guard base in Mobile," said Howard.
