Naked man leads deputies to meth lab

LUCEDALE, Miss. (WALA) - George County Sheriff’s Deputies said a man dancing naked on the side of the road probably didn’t realize his actions would lead to the dismantling of what they believe was his meth lab.

Deputies said by the time they got to the scene on Ward Pineview Road around noon on Sunday, the man had fled into the woods. Sgt. Wendell Garris and Deputy David Ray with the GCSO had a clue as to who the man was, so they proceeded to a home where they believed he lived.

At the residence, about a half mile away, the deputies found the meth lab inside a metal toolbox in the backyard. A hazmat crew came in to dismantle it.

Sheriff Dean Howell said in a release that the sheriff’s office “will dismantle every meth lab [they] find, and the owner of this lab probably didn’t realize dancing naked on the side of the road may bring him some unwanted attention if he is, indeed, who we think he is.”

Authorities have asked anyone with information on the meth lab, or the naked man, to call Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous. Or, call the George County Sheriff’s Office at 601-947-4811.
