D'IBERVILLE, Miss. (WALA) - D'Iberville Police Lieutenant Terry Hines says a Walmart store in the city has been inundated with counterfeit bills during the past year but now, police may have a photo of a suspect.
Hines said his department is tracking the serial numbers on two confiscated bills the suspect tried to use at Wal-Mart recently.
The U. S. Secret Service is charged with enforcing counterfeit law, it has more information about counterfeit currency on its Web site.
The Secret Service said the paper, which has red and blue fibers embedded throughout, as well as various details including the portrait, serial number and fine lines, are easy ways to spot counterfeit money.
