GULFPORT, Miss. (WALA) - A Gulfport man is in trouble with the law after firefighters were called to a burning home and say they found an extensive pot growing operation.
Roger Tejas, 41, was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Fire investigators say someone had covered the doors and windows with reflective insulation and had rigged up an electrical system that was too much for the house to handle. They say an unidentified man was severely cut when he tried to escape from the home. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Tejas was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Bond has been set at $50,000.
