Sex offender failed to comply, arrested

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WALA) - Jackson County Sheriffs Deputies arrested a convicted sex offender Friday who failed to comply with registration requirements.
Robert Carl Hester, 59, was arrested and charged with non-compliant sex offender for failing to register at his new address.
The Sheriff's Office investigation started with a tip that Hester was living on Argentina Street in Pascagoula, Miss. and resulted in his arrest without incident Friday.
The statute Hester violated states that "a sex offender must notify the Department of Public Safety Driver's License Station not less than ten (10) days before he first resides at a new address."
Hester is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center and his initial appearance in court is pending.
