MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) - A memorial service was held in Birmingham Tuesday for Kyser Miree. Miree was murdered in his home on Macy Place. Police are still trying to come up with information that might lead to an arrest.
Police investigators were back on Macy Place Tuesday morning. Tow trucks were brought in to move a pickup and camper that belonged to Kyser Miree.
The vehicles were parked in the lot of a local law firm. An employee for the firm said someone parked the truck and camper there last Friday, the same day Miree was killed.
Police say Miree was shot inside his home around 11:30 that night. Miree's older model pickup is still parked in front of the house.
Workers next door said neighbors want to know what happened.
Police say the 23-year-old was murdered but that is all the information they are releasing at this time.
"We toppled this ladder over here so they could get on top of the house and take a look around. I guess they were looking for a weapon," Roy McDonald said.
Police have not said if they found a weapon in the house or not.
"There's all kinds of things you can speculate. If there's not signs of breaking in somebody could have knocked on his door and forced their way in," McDonald said.
Those are just some of the ideas running through people's minds.
There's an obituary with Kyser's picture right in front of the house. It tells us everything about his life, where he went to school, his achievements, even his relationship with his family, but we still know very little about his death.
"They been out here investigating and taking pictures and stuff, but I don't think nobody really knows," Danny Ringer said.
Neighbors appear to be the only ones talking about the case right now.
Miree graduated from Vanderbilt University last year. He moved to Mobile to work as an engineer for Chevron.
