PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) - The Prichard Police Department is requesting the public's assistant in locating 31-year-old Michael Mitchell and 30-year-old Christina McMillen. Authorities say the couple posed as Prichard Water Works contractors and stole a 94-year-old woman's checkbook from her home.

Investigators say Mitchell and McMillen, carrying an infant with them, went to a home on Easterling Street. The couple told the victim they worked with the city, and asked if it was okay if they brought the baby inside.

Once the victim agreed, they told her they would like to complete a walk-through to test her water faucets. Police say McMillen distracted the victim while Mitchell went through the victim's purse.

The victim called investigators to report her checks were missing. They say after she received her monthly bank statement, the victim noticed Mitchell had cashed several checks between February 3 and February 15, 2010.

When both suspects are caught, they will be charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and impersonating a public service employee.

Mitchell is known to drive an older model Ford F-150 pick-up truck. He also has active warrants with the Pensacola Police Department and the Escambia County, Fla. Sheriff's Office.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mitchell and McMillen is asked to call the Prichard Police Department at 251-452-2211.
