GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) - A 29-year-old Georgia man was treated for injuries Saturday afternoon after a possible shark attack in the Gulf of Mexico.

Officials tell Fox10 News that the man was in chest-deep water near the 1100 block of West Beach Boulevard when something bit his hand. Gulf Shores Fire Rescue responded to the call and treated the man on the scene.

Gulf Shores spokesman Grant Brown says the victim was driven to an urgent care clinic where he was treated for cuts to his hand and released. Brown says no other sightings of sharks in the area were reported.
