GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) - There are 35,000 people heading to Gulf Shores for the Hangout Music and Arts Festival, and they have to sleep somewhere. That’s where local real estate companies come in.
Meyer Real Estate is the first stop for many of the festival goers coming into Gulf Shores. Sarah Kuzma with Meyer said they are very excited to show their beaches to visitors.
"We're really excited in many perspectives. Not just how full we are, but how many people we can expose to our area in a positive way, so they can go back, tell their friends and relatives, ‘Wow, we have an amazing white, clean wonderful beach,’” said Kuzma.
Kuzma said just like the festival, they are sold out.
"Everything started getting exciting in January, and then as the line-ups were announced, people got more and more interested. We've been sold out now for a couple of months,” said Kuzma.
That’s 16,500 rental properties in Gulf Shores, Perdido Key and Fort Morgan that were sold out.
"They're coming from so many states that [we] don't normally pull from for our customer base. Certainly all the states we are accustomed to, but also the northeast, which is not typical for us and California and western states that are not typical for us,” said Kuzma.
Kuzma said some are even traveling from Canada to see the big names at the festival.
