An ad by the National Rifle Association is bringing President Obama’s kids into the gun debate. Beginning a sharp pushback to any new gun regulations, the NRA has posted a Web video that labels President Barack Obama an "elitist hypocrite" for allowing his daughters to be protected by armed Secret Service agents while not embracing armed guards for schools.
A narrator asks in the video: "Are the president's kids more important than yours?"
President Obama unveiled his proposals for gun-control today. Some of the things he’s calling for include: background checks on all gun sales, a limit on the size of ammunition magazines and the reinstatement of a ban on assault weapons.
The White House is calling the ad repugnant and slamming the NRA for dragging Obama’s family into the gun debate.
