VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - A woman charged with murdering a 22-year-old University of Southern Mississippi student in his home almost eight years ago is scheduled for trial Monday in Lamar County Circuit Court, in Purvis.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jennifer Wardle is accused of shooting James Neal May in the head. He was found May 1, 2002, and his death was initially ruled a suicide.

Wardle was indicted in October 2007. She has been free on $100,000 bond.

May's father, James May of Vicksburg, say he and his wife, and Peggi May, and relatives and friends will make the 140-mile trip to Purvis for the trial.

The state attorney general's office is prosecuting the case before Circuit Judge R.I. Prichard III.

May says his son was a college senior studying geographical information systems.
