MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - As we told you first, Tuesday night, U.S. Marshals caught up to a couple who posed as utility workers, ending the massive search for Michael Mitchell and Christina McMillen. One of the victims said she is happy their behind bars.

The manhunt for Michael Mitchell and Christina McMillen is over. US Marshals captured them in the Big Easy.

News that the couple is behind bars makes Lucille Molpus happy.

"They can bury them under the jail for all I care, they really goofed up my life when I found out I had no money in the bank," said Molpus.

The duo is accused of stealing more than $11,000 from Molpus and her late husband. Mitchell posed as a car repair man while McMillen swiped a checkbook.

"I had just gotten a whole box of checks and she took a whole box," said Molpus.

The Molpus family wasn't the only victim.

Prichard Police said Mitchell and McMillen posed as city workers and conned an elderly woman.

"Our detectives put together that this couple was wanted in a bunch of different cities for the same thing, Mobile Police, the Sheriff's Office, and Pensacola," said Latoya Veal with the City of Prichard.

Gulfport Police said it received information that helped U.S. Marshals track the couple down to a hotel in New Orleans.

"We received three separate complaints of theft, mostly jewelry," said Gulfport Police.

McMillen's four children were also there when Marshals arrested the pair.

"I worry about the children, they had all of them when they came to my house," shared Molpus.

Gulfport Police Detective Sgt. Cooper said the children are now with other relatives. He said Gulfport should prosecute the case first, since its detective works with the U.S. Marshals who helped track down the couple.

As for Lucille Mulpos, she hopes sharing her story will spare others.
