MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Less than 24 hours left for you to get hurricane prepared tax free in Alabama. The tax free shopping weekend ends Sunday at midnight.
The state's first tax-free weekend for weather preparedness started on Friday. Since then, the state's four percent sales tax has been waived on many emergency preparedness supplies.
Those supplies range from batteries to flashlights to non-electrical food storage containers.
The state sales tax is also waved on portable generators costing up to $1,000.
Governor Robert Bentley says being prepared helps speed the response to a natural disaster.
