Donations needed for VOA's Caring Tree

Calling all Santas out there:  we have a job for you!  How would you like to help others this holiday season?  Many of our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet.  And, that can be a very difficult reality during the holidays.  It may mean no gifts or no big holiday meals or no roof over their heads in the cold winter weather. 

Amanda Gonzales is the Director of Development with Volunteers of America.  She explains, "there is an extreme need in our community.  There are plenty of people who will go without food this holiday season, without a warm blanket, without a coat, children that will not have toys.  And, the only way that we can make sure those folks have what they need, is if our community comes together and gives back to it."
     
One way you can give back, is to grab your Santa hat and fill out a Christmas wish list of a special child this holiday season!  Hundreds of children are on Volunteers of America's Caring Tree this year.  The children are separated from their families through no fault of their own, and, they could use a little help celebrating the season.  You just pick a card -- which has all the details like age, size, wish list -- and, you go shopping!

You can also just pick up a toy while you are out and about.  We are teaming up with Trax Tires for a holiday toy drive.  Drop the unwrapped, new toy off at any Trax Tires locations, and we'll make sure it gets delivered by Christmas.  Click here  for all of the Trax Tires locations.  This is a really fun way to get involved and give back this holiday season, and you can really make a difference in the life of a child! 
     
We are going to be working with the Volunteers of America throughout the holidays.  It's all part of our 10 Caring Gifts program.  And, we'll continue to show you what a difference one person, one group and one good deed can make.  We really hope you will get involved!
