As you are figuring out your holiday budget, we have an idea for you. How about spending some of that Christmas money to help those in need. And, you can decide exactly how each dollar is spent. It's all part of Volunteers of America's 10 Caring Gifts.
You can donate money to any of Volunteers of America's holiday projects. You just fill out the form and mark the amount next to whichever category you want. For example, you can donate to the Caring Tree, which helps children separated from their families through no fault of their own. You can donate to art and education supplies, which goes to at-risk youth and those with special needs in our area. You can choose to give your money to provide necessities for the winter, like coats and jackets, blankets and socks. Or you can focus your donation on our troops and veterans to help them buy phone cards or other things they need. And, if you want, you can donate money to help provide food for those in need. You have all kinds of options here!
It's really easy for you to get involved this holiday season. Again, if you would like to donate, you can fill out the form (available at the Volunteers of America's office at 600 Azalea Road) or you can click here to donate on-line.
And, if you're looking for other ways to give back, we have a big list of ideas for you and things you can do to get involved this holiday season. Check that out here .
We're going to be working with the Volunteers of America throughout the holidays. We'll continue to show you what a difference one person, one-group and one good deed can make. We really hope you will get involved!
