Blanket Drive

I am about to tell you about some amazing four and five year olds!  That's right, they're pre-schoolers!  I'm talking about the Just 4 Blanket Ambassadors.  These pre-schoolers at Just 4  Developmental Lab are going way above what you might expect this holiday season to help others.  The little students are working very hard to make this holiday season a little brighter -- and warmer -- for those in need.

They have teamed up with Volunteers of America to collect blankets.  It's one of Volunteers of America's 10 Caring Gifts.  These students have already collected dozens of blankets, and they are well on their way to their goal of more than 300.  They say they are happy to help those who need it.  Four year old Jayde tells us she's doing this because "some people don't have any blankets and they don't have anywhere to live."  Classmate, four year old America, explains, "we can help keep them warm."  Teachers and staff here have been doing this for several years now.  It started as a faculty project.  And, it's expanded -- big-time!  It's a great learning opportunity for the kids.  When we start teaching them about giving back early on in life, it sticks with them as they grow up.
