Holiday Food Drive

As we enjoy our Thanksgiving, a day full of turkey, family and friends, this is the perfect time to take a minute and think about what we can do to give back.  We are beginning a special series of reports to show you how easy it is to volunteer and give back this holiday season.  It's all part of Volunteers of America's 10 Caring Gifts.  We want to encourage you to give back this holiday season.

For example, as we give thanks and eat our fill of turkey and all the fixings, we could take a moment to put food on the table for those who don't have anything to eat.  We are holding a Food Drive this holiday season.  You can drop off non-perishable food items at nine local Greer's stores locations.  That includes the stores in:  Bayou La Batre, Eight Mile, Fairhope, Grand Bay, Robertsdale, Semmes, Theodore, Broad Street, Navco Road, 1342 Springhill Avenue, 2890 Springhill Avenue, and Prichard.  And, we will make sure that food gets to those who need it most this holiday season.  Imagine not being able to provide food for your family -- especially this time of year!  

The good news is you can help!  There are lots of ways to get involved.  You can do everything from collecting pennies to donating school supplies to making Christmas ornaments or shopping for a special child or giving cash donations.  There's really something for everyone.  All kinds of choices for you to give back and help others this time of year.

We are going to be working with the Volunteers of America throughout the holidays.  And, we'll  show you what a difference one person, one-group and one-good deed can make.  We really hope you will get involved!
