Santa has some great little helpers this year! I say little because, well, they are! The Blanket Ambassadors from Just 4 Developmental Lab are 3, 4 and 5 year olds. These pre-schoolers are collecting blankets to help those less fortunate this holiday season. It's all part of Volunteers of America's 10 Caring Gifts. The students have already collected more than 100 blankets, and they say they're happy to help those who need it. They're doing a great job as the Ambassadors this year!
Teachers and staff at Just 4 have been doing this for several years. It started as a faculty project, and it's expanded! It's a great learning opportunity for the kids!
Principal Linda Blassingame explains, "we want to find something to do each year to teach the children how important it is to give and to share. Some of these characteristics are hard to teach, so we have to actually get involved to show children what it's like to give."
Principal Blassingame says it's so important to teach children about giving back early-on because it's an idea that sticks with them as they grow up! Their goal this year is 320 blanket, which is 10 more than last year.
And, you can help them reach that goal. You can get involved and give back this holiday season! Just click here to learn more about all of the opportunities to help others this holiday season through 10 Caring Gifts.
We are going to be working with the Volunteers of America throughout the holidays. And, we'll continue to show you what a difference one person, one group and one good deed can make. We really hope that you will get involved!
