Santa has a lot of helpers this year! And, the little elves are busy helping others! The students at Semmes Middle School put on a toy drive. And, listen to this - they collected more than 400 toys in just two-days! That is incredible!
All of the toys will go to a special child this holiday season. The middle schoolers say giving back is what the season is all about.
Kandace Garmon explains, "it teaches us to be grateful for the little things that they don't have but we have."
And, Hannah Beverly tells us, "it's been amazing seeing how many people care about the little kids out there."
Thank you to all the students, faculty and staff at Semmes Middle School for collecting all of these toys!
And, here's the great thing about this: you can do what these students are doing! You can! It's all part of Volunteers of America's 10 Caring Gifts. It's really easy to get involved. Click here for a whole list of things you can do to give back this holiday season. Everything from donating toys, like the middle schoolers at Semmes have done, to helping local veterans to providing art and school supplies. You name it, there really are lots of ways to get involved.
And, if you would like to donate a toy for a special child, you can drop it off at any Trax Tires location . We will make sure it gets there in time for Christmas.
Thanks again to the wonderful students and staff at Semmes Middle School for all they're doing to help others! We're going to be working with Volunteers of America this holiday season. We'll continue to show you what a difference one person, one-group and one-good deed can make. We really hope that you will get involved.
