A local couple is playing Santa this holiday season. They are making Christmas brighter for a whole lot of kids! Nearly 90, in fact!!
Billy and Angie Jackson donated 87 bicycles for children in need here on the Gulf Coast. Super Santas for sure! The Jacksons, who have been doing this for several years, say they are just happy to help out. Billy Jackson explains, "put a smile on the face of a child for Christmas. That's what it's all about." Billy and Angie dropped off all of the bicycles at the Saraland Trax Tires store as part of our toy drive for 10 Caring Gifts. What an amazing Christmas it will be for nearly 90 children!
And, the Jacksons aren't the only ones with a generous heart this holiday season. Many of you have gotten involved and shopped for a special child. Kimberly McKeand with Trax Tires says, "the response has been amazing. We are thankful for it! We have tons of bikes and toys. Kids and parents - everyone - they just keep bringing the toys by." McKeand says Cooper Tires has also been instrumental in making the toy drive a success.
Here's the good news: you still have time to get involved. We are collecting toys all day Friday. You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any Trax Tires location , and we will make sure it gets delivered in time for Christmas!
And, there are other ways you can give back. Click here to see all the ways you can help others. It includes everything from donating your spare change to making Christmas ornaments to helping local veterans..
Thank you again to Billy and Angie Jackson for playing the role of Super Santas!
We are going to be working with the Volunteers of America throughout the holidays. And, we'll continue to show you what a difference one person, one group and one good deed can make.
