DAILY DOT COM - As of this week Tuesday, Twitter users can now edit and refine their pictures right from their Twitter account. The latest versions of Twitter for iPhone and Android include new ways to enhance images from the social media site, instead of having to use a third party site like Facebook-owned Instagram.
The timing couldn’t be better. Just this week, Twitter lost the ability to display images from Instagram. Now, when you or someone you follow sends an Instagram photo to Twitter, you'll only see a link to the photo. In the past, you'd see the entire photo directly in your Twitter timeline when using any official Twitter app or the Web site.
Twitter first added the ability to include images in tweets in June 2011. Since then the site has been trying to make it easier and faster for its users to share and enjoy pictures.
Twitter has eight filters, ranging from black & white to vintage, to add a new look and feel to photos. There are also auto-enhance and cropping options, where users can zoon in order to focus attention.
The updated Twitter app is available now in the Google Play store for Android devices, or Apple's App Store for iPhone users.
However, if you are used to using Instagram to edit your pictures, you’ll notice there aren’t as many filters with Twitter, and you won’t be able to frame your photos either.
