Mobile Schools New App

DAILY DOT COM - The Mobile County School System has partnered with SiS Connect, a database of 6,000 schools across 48 states in the United States to offer a new mobile app.

The app uses a Google style search and is meant to keep parents connected to school and district information from their mobile devices.

Users simply enter the name of their son or daughters’ district or school –the school can then be added to a personalized list of favorites.  “Our new app benefits parents who have multiple children attending different schools within Mobile County, now they have the ability to quickly access al of their children’s information within one app,” said David Akridge, Executive Manager CIO for Mobile County Schools.

Just think of the mobile application as an extension of your schools website…with access to homework, lunch menus, current school news and upcoming events.

The difference is the interface. It's designed to view information in no more than three clicks, which is a lot quicker than having to log onto the internet for the information.

Mobile County Schools are featured in the application, but a resources section has been added to help the schools and districts that are not listed.

“We are quite proud to be the forst K-12 web provider to have an app in the iTunes Store.  It’s a credit to our development team and all of our school partners across the country to be the first company to provide this service,” said Gabi Constantine, SchoolInSites CEO.

The SiS app is a free download for the iPhone and iPad in the iTunes store.
