DAILY DOT COM PayPal says it is expandin - PayPal says it is expanding its brick-and-mortar payment services to more than 7 million stores across the U.S. in a partnership with Discover.

EBay Inc.'s payments unit has 113 million active million users around the world.  People often use the service for sending payments or transfers through the Internet.

On Wednesday PayPal announced retailers that take Discover cards will be able to process PayPal payments.  So, instead  of swiping a card or taking cash, merchants will enter your mobile-phone number and personal identification number.

Earlier this year it unveiled a mobile payments service, PayPal Here, that lets businesses process credit card payments with smartphones.

PayPal also is providing customers with physical cards that can be used at merchants that don't have PIN-enabled payment terminals. Those transactions will still tap into the customer's PayPal account.

According to reports, the service starts next year.
