PlayStation 4 unveiled

DAILY DOT COM - Sony revealed its long-awaited Playstation 4 on Wednesday.  But one might say it was just a tease. The consumer electronic giant didn't offer a look at the new device; instead it talked a lot about what it can do.

The console has a new controller with a touchpad and "share" button, so users can broadcast their live gameplay to friends.  The controller also features a light bar, which means a new PS4 camera can more easily track the device for motion control.  Other new features revolve around social networking.

There hasn't been a new console from Sony in 7 years.  During that time, Microsoft's XBOX has taken the lead in the U.S. market, with Nintendo's Wii a competitive third. 

Sony says its new system will be available just in time for the 2013 holiday season.  It didn’t give any specifics on pricing though.
