DAILY DOT COM - Tis the season to give and the creators of Sevenly hope you will dig into your pockets to help some worthy causes over the holidays.

Sevenly is a funding organization that tries to raise awareness, and money, for various charities around the globe.  It's the brainchild of two entrepreneurs who wanted to make a difference in what they thought were the world's greatest problems: Hunger, Water, Slavery, Aid, Disaster, Medical, and Poverty.

“We figured, if we can help people give, we could get them to care” said, Dale Partridge, Co-founder.

The result was a the following model:

  • Every seven days, they would partner with a new charity affecting one of the seven causes
  • They would release a new, limited edition awareness tee, specifically for that cause
  • Over those seven days, for every product sold, they would give $7 to that week’s charity. (exe: 1,000 tees = $7,000 given)

Sevenly was founded in June 2011. According to its website, Sevenly raised over $175,000 in the first six months of operations.  To date, the site has raised more than $1.4 million dollars for charity.

Past causes include Autism Speaks, where more than $200,000 dollars was collected for research.

During the week of December 10 - 14, the goal is to help provide funding for "Sheltering Wings," a facility in Indiana that provides emergency housing for women and children suffering from domestic abuse.
