MOBILE, Ala. - Volunteer Mobile is revamping communication tactics by taking on Web 2.0 as a way to reach out to volunteers, charities and businesses. Web 2.0 is a combination of internet resources that allow its users to interact with one another through user-friendly tools such as online surveys, blogs and social media accounts.
Whether it's reporting, tracking, posting or matching volunteer needs and opportunities, Volunteer Mobile's new online technology makes it easier for volunteers to find a way to serve locally. Volunteer Mobile supports the entire cycle of volunteer management from start to finish.
"Recruiting volunteers is easier and more efficient than it's ever been, thanks to our online volunteer management software and social media tools," said Diana Brinson, executive director of Volunteer Mobile. "Not only can we update the community instantly about volunteer opportunities, but we have multi-faceted reporting functions that allow agencies to track their volunteer hours instantly."
In a recent customer satisfaction survey sent out, 91 percent of the participants reported having a positive volunteer experience through Volunteer Mobile and expected to use Volunteer Mobile as their service vehicle again.
Volunteer Mobile can now be found on Facebook, Twitter and Myspace, or at www.volunteermobile.org.
