DAILY DOT COM - Yahoo has revamped its mail program –this time making changes to how users receive their pictures.

These days, who doesn't have tons of photos in their inbox? Sorting through all those images can be overwhelming.  That’s where Yahoo’s photo application comes into play.  It’s designed to make looking and searching through all of those images easier.

Yahoo announced the new feature in a blog post on June 21, 2012.  Some tech bloggers say the company has been looking for ways to revive its popularity.  The competition is stiff with providers like Google Gmail, Windows Hotmail and AOL all in the mix.  It seems Google leads the pack as the most popular email provider, according to research by poll position .  The release of the photo app is perhaps one way of making Yahoo’s services stand out from the rest.

Results can be sorted by date, sender, or file size, and date all the way back through the entire life of your account.  Once you’re in the Photos app, you can view all your photos in a slideshow, no matter how many photos you have. Not to mention share your favorite digital memories in seconds via email or Flickr in just one click, while also being able to access them from your desktop or mobile device.

Key features of the new Photos applications include:

  • ·        Skip searching: Easily find all of your photos in one place
  • ·         Share in seconds: Email your photos with one click or upload to Flickr.
  • ·         Find the associated email: Locate the photo and the email it was originally sent with.
  • ·         Sort easily: Easily sort and filter photos by sender, date, size or file type.

If you have a Yahoo account, the photo app can be found in the lower-left side of Yahoo Mail in the applications area.
