Chris Myers Extra Mile Award: St. Jude on the Bay

Legs save lives – that's just one of the mottos of those with St. Jude on the Bay. Their mission is to not only raise money for St. Jude's Children’s Research hospital but also spread the word of the treatment facility as well. There is a run every year called the Memphis to Mobile run. Runners caravan to the hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and run all the way down to the USS Alabama here in Mobile.

Katie Fletcher, St. Jude on the Bay:
“We are so excited to be receiving the Extra Mile check this year. We raised over $70,000 dollars for St. Jude's and this is going to be seed money for next year to cover our expenses for our run.”

For their effort in the community, those with St. Jude on the Bay are the winners of this week's Chris Myers Extra Mile Award and $500.
