SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WALA) - This week's Chris Myers Extra Mile Award goes to the Spanish Fort Education Enrichment Foundation.

The $500 check will go toward helping to make the Spanish Fort campuses wireless-ready to give students more access to technology and computers.

"We are trying to get kids more competitive and training them to be college ready and/or work force ready (for) when the time comes for them to get out into the real world," Chris Barraza said.

The group held a casino night fundraiser Saturday, January 14 at the Daphne Civic Center. It included a silent auction with lots of items up for grabs, including two signed footballs from Julio Jones and Mark Ingram.
