MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - This week's Chris Myers Automall Extra Mile Award goes to the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation.

It's a non-profit group that gives special attention to our wounded troops.

"We take our combat heroes, our combat wounded, and take them hunting and fishing across the country," said John McDaniel with Wounded Warriors in Action.

The group recently got the chance to hunt in Alabama.

Wounded Warriors in Action has 43 operations in 26 states. In 2011 alone, more than 100 Purple Heart recipients got to go on a trip similar to that one.

The $500 check will go toward similar trips.
