MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - UPDATE:  Suspect Darnell King surrendered two days after being profiled on Fox 10 News Fugitive Files.

It didn't long for police to arrest last week's suspect on Fox 10 News Fugitive Files. So now, the search is on for someone new, someone accused of beating a girl with a belt and leaving welts on the girl's buttocks, back and right side.

The suspect's name is Darnell King. She may also be known as Darnell Johnson.

Mobile Police tell me the crime happened Sunday in the 24 hundred block of Gulf Terra Drive North, and believe the woman fled after the beating.

Officer Christopher Levy told me, "If she's not in this area, then hopefully someone will be able to help police by indicating where she may have gone to. She beat the juvenile so badly, she had to be admitted to the hospital."

King is 28 years old, 5 foot 1 inches tall and weighs 168 pounds. If you know where police can pick her up, call the Fox 10 News Fugitive Files/Crimestoppers Hotline at 251-208-7000.

Police believe King has relatives in Montgomery, but might return to the Mobile area. If you know where she is, call our Hotline.
